Our Favorite Things

My Favorite Things...

Lino's in Sheboygan is my favorite restaurant.  High quality authentic Italian food.  Great service too!

Olivu is a store where you can make your own cosmetics.  You choose the fragrances and special ingredients to make the products uniquely you.  My favorite products are the lip glosses, sugar scrubs, and whipped olive oil moisturizer.

A Favorite Family Tradition
Each year the ladies in the family get together to make porch decorations from boughs cut from the woods near our cabin up north.

I will be presenting the winner of my favorite things blog-hop with a twenty dollar gift card to Amazon.com.  Good Luck!

Because we value our followers and wanted to treat you to our favorite things Oprah style, we have put together the best giveaway of the season! My bloggy friends and I welcome you to the best, biggest, most cheerful event of the season:

How to Fit Everything In

I've found that by teaching thematically, I am able to fit a lot more into our day.  The read aloud books of the day match a science or social studies theme that we are studying.  By teaching in this manner, students are able to make connections and learn vocabulary much more quickly. This method is especially helpful for students who are English language learners, or students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

This time of year, I find myself looking over the themes taught.  It's time to enhance the best themes and those the children get the most out of.  It's also time to consider eliminating those that are not as strong in content area instruction.

What do you do to "fit it all in?"

Had a great time in Las Vegas at the first TpT Convention.  The presenters were awesome.  Looking forward to returning next year!
